Kwinana refinery set to close later this month
Oil
BP has announced that it has now stopped importing crude at its 146K b/d Kwinana oil refinery located in Western Australia, and that it is currently on track to decommission the site by the end of March, Reuters report. Plans to convert the largest of the country’s four refineries into a fuel import terminal were previously outlined in October 2020, and despite being offered incentives from the Australian government to continue operations all processing at the plant is now in the shutdown phase.
