Turkish Coal Imports in January
Turkish steam coal imports (including anthracite) fell by 0.8 Mt year-on-year in January to 2.6 Mt, an eight-month low, data from IHS reveal. Shipments from Colombia dropped 1.0 Mt to 0.8 Mt, the lowest level since April 2017. Meanwhile, imports of Russian steam coal rose by 0.2 Mt to 1.6 Mt.
By contrast, Turkish coking coal imports rose by 0.2 Mt annually to 0.7 Mt, a ten-month high.
