US shale oil output to decline in April

Oil production from the seven top US shale regions is set to fall by 50K b/d m-o-m and 950K b/d y-o-y to 7.46M b/d in April, according to drilling productivity reports published by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Output is expected to decrease from six of the major shale regions, with the most significant declines coming from the Eagle Ford and Niobrara Basins which are both due to fall by 15K b/d m-o-m to 1.03M b/d and 500K b/d respectively. Production from the Permian Basin, the largest in the US, is set to increase by 11K b/d m-o-m to 4.29M b/d however, a three-month high.
