China Bauxite and Nickel Ore Imports

China imported 8.7 Mt of bauxite in April, down from 9.9 Mt in the same month last year, official customs data showed.

Imports in the January-April period hit 35.9 Mt, down from 38.4 Mt a year earlier.

Nickel Ore imports meanwhile hit a five-month high of 3.2 Mt in April, a jump of 1.9 Mt year-on-year. Imports across January-April reached 8.0 Mt, up from 7.3 Mt in the same period last year.
