Of the monthly total of 98.6 Mt, China imported 6.3 Mt of iron ore from India in April, official customs data showed, the highest level since 2011 and up 1.2 Mt month-on-month.

Meanwhile, China imported 62.5 Mt of iron ore from Australia and 16.8 Mt from Brazil. Inbound volumes from Brazil rose year-on-year, from 15.5 Mt in April 2020, but declined from Australia, with 63.0 Mt shipped from the country in April last year.
