Hot Rolled Band Prices

At $1,278/t, the price of Western European hot rolled band (HRB) jumped $164/t in the two weeks to 12 May, a new record high, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics.

Elsewhere, the US HRB price achieved a new record of $1,627/t, up $103/t.

The Chinese domestic HRB price rose $64/t to $805/t, far exceeding the historical peak of $722/t in June 2008.
