Combined seaborne manganese ore and chrome ore exports from South Africa reached 2.4 Mt in March, up from 2.1 Mt in the same month last year, official customs data showed.

Manganese ore exports came in at 1.7 Mt with chrome ore volumes totalling 0.7 Mt.

China was the largest destination for seaborne exports of both ores, with 0.7 Mt of chrome ore and 1.0 Mt of manganese ore registered.

For the 1q, combined exports hit 7.1 Mt, up 0.5 Mt year-on-year.
