Canadian coking coal exports edged up 0.1 Mt year-on-year to reach 2.4 Mt in September (excluding shipments to the US), according to IHS data. The rise featured a 0.5 Mt jump in shipments to China to 0.8 Mt, while exports to Japan also increased (+0.1 Mt to 0.8 Mt). By contrast, exports to India (-0.3 Mt to 0.2 Mt) and South Korea (-0.2 Mt to 0.3 Mt) both fell.

Outbound shipments of Canadian steam coal also rose, up 0.2 Mt annually to 0.6 Mt.
