Chinese Crude Steel Production Tumbles in October

China’s crude steel output sank 23.3% year-on-year In October to 71.6 Mt, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Production over January-October stood 0.7% below the corresponding period in 2020, putting this year’s annual output on course to underperform 2020 levels.
This weak production trend continued into November with daily crude steel output at China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) member mills over 1-10 November tumbling 16.2% year-on-year to reach 1.8 Mt, the organisation reports.
