Japanese and Brazilian Steel Production Up in October

Japanese crude steel output jumped 14.3% year-on-year to reach 8.2 Mt in October, the highest level in five months, data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation show. At 80.4 Mt, production in January-October was 17.5% above the corresponding period in 2020.
Meanwhile, Brazilian steel output edged up 3.1% in October to 2.9 Mt, according to data from the Brazilian steel institute. Production in the year-to-date stands 19.2% above the year-ago level at 30.3 Mt.
