Japanese Coal and Iron Ore Imports Rise in September

Japanese coal imports jumped by 18.1% year-on-year in September to reach 16.2 Mt, the highest level since January 2020, data from the Ministry of Finance reveal.

Meanwhile, imports of iron ore rose by 12.0% annually to 9.1 Mt. However, despite the year-on-year increase, September imports were still a four-month low.
