Port Hedland Iron Ore Throughput Climbs in September

Port Hedland iron ore exports rose by 1.4 Mt year-on-year in September to reach 47.0 Mt, port authority data reveal. Year-on-year increases in shipments to both Japan (+1.7 Mt to 2.8 Mt) and South Korea (+0.6 Mt to 3.9 Mt) were enough to offset a 1.1 Mt decline in exports to China to 38.6 Mt. 

At 405.1 Mt exports to all destinations in January-September were down slightly on the same nine months last year.
