China imported 8.7 Mt of bauxite in August, a six-month low and down from 10.3 Mt in the same month last year, according to customs data reported by Reuters.

By contrast, Chinese nickel ore imports climbed to an eleven-month high of 5.8 Mt in August, up from 3.7 Mt in the same month a year earlier.

Meanwhile, China’s inbound shipments of copper ores and concentrates hit 1.9 Mt, up from 1.6 Mt last August.
