Japanese imports of Australian iron ore in August reached 5.7 Mt, up 2.1 Mt year-on-year with Brazilian volumes registered at 2.8 Mt, unchanged on the year ago level, data from Japan’s Ministry of Finance show.

Other source for Japan’s iron ore imports in the month were Canada at 0.7 Mt and South Africa at 0.1 Mt.
