Total coal exports from major Queensland terminals Abbot Point, Dalrymple Bay, Gladstone and Hay Point reached a combined 17.2 Mt in August, up from 16.7 Mt a year earlier, official port data showed.

Exports from Dalrymple Bay reached an eight-month high of just over 5.0 Mt, up 0.5 Mt year-on-year.

Coal exports from the port of Gladstone reached 6.1 Mt, up 0.4 Mt year-on-year, with Japan the largest destination (2.2 Mt), followed by India (1.3 Mt) and South Korea (1.0 Mt).
