World HRB Steel Prices

Hot rolled band (HRB) steel prices in the US continued to move higher, bucking the trend observed in China and Western Europe, to reach a new record high in the period between 13-27 September, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics.
The US HRB price was assessed at $2,105/t, up $27/t from the 23 August-13 September period, and was also up from $622/t in the corresponding period of 2020.
However, in China and Western Europe the price fell to $757/t and $1,249/t, down $11/t and $76/t respectively.
In the corresponding period of 2020, the Chinese price stood at $479/t while the Western European price was assessed at $578/t.
