EU steel imports rose by 7.9 Mt year-on-year to 30.3 Mt in 2021, the highest annual total in more than a decade, according to Eurofer data. This came despite a decline in December imports to a 15-month low of 1.2 Mt. In contrast, EU steel exports fell 0.6 Mt to 19.3 Mt in 2021.
