South African steam coal exports were down 8.7 Mt year-on-year to 66.2 Mt in 2021, according to IHS. The data shows a 12.9 Mt decrease in South African exports to India to 25.3 Mt however, shipments to China jumped to 6.7 Mt from less than 1 Mt the year before.
