South Korean steel exports edged higher year-on-year in December to 2.4 Mt, according to the Korean Steel Association. Despite this, the annual total for 2021 exports was 1.8 Mt below the previous year at 27.1 Mt and the lowest year for shipment since 2010. By contrast, at 14.5 Mt, the country’s 2021 steel imports were 2.2 Mt higher year-on-year.
