Indonesia Ends Coal Export Ban
After 28 days the Indonesian coal export ban has been rescinded, three days ahead of schedule. Just 8.0 Mt of coal were exported from Indonesia in the first 27 days of January, according to IHS estimates, versus 36.1 Mt in the same period last year.
US Grain Exports
Combined US exports of corn, soyabeans and wheat dropped 0.1 Mt week-on-week to 3.4 Mt in the seven days ending 20 January, according to official data. This decrease was due to lower soyabean and wheat exports, by contrast, corn shipments reached the highest level since June 2021 at 1.4 Mt.
