Colombian Steam Coal Exports Rise

Colombia’s steam coal exports climbed to a three-month high of 4.9 Mt in December, up by 1.1 Mt year-on-year, as shipments to destinations in the Americas climbed to highest level since January 2020 at 2.2 Mt, IHS reports. This helped lift annual exports to all destinations in 2021 3.9 Mt higher year-on-year to 56.0 Mt. However, shipments remained sharply down on pre-pandemic exports of 76.4 Mt in 2019.
