Coal throughput at the Queensland port of Gladstone rose to a four-month high of 5.8 Mt in December, although this was still down by 0.6 Mt year-on-year, port authority data show. This left 2021 shipments 1.5 Mt below the year before at 69.4 Mt, the lowest annual total since 2018.
