HRB Steel Prices Slip Lower

The US domestic price for hot rolled band (HRB) fell by $13/t over the two weeks to 12 January to $1,750/t, according to World Steel Dynamics SteelBenchmarker. The US HRB price has now fallen by almost $400/t from its October 2021 peak however, it remains more than $650/t higher year-on-year. Chinese and Western European HRB prices edged lower over the past two weeks to $636/t and $1,040/t, respectively.
