US HRB Price Continues Fall

The US domestic price for hot rolled band (HRB) continues to fall, with a of $97/t decrease over the two weeks to 26 January to reach $1,653/t, its lowest price since May 2021, according to World Steel Dynamics SteelBenchmarker. Despite falling since October, the US HRB price is still $510/t higher than the same time last year. The trend differs outside of the US, with the Chinese HRB price seeing a small increase of $10/t over the past two weeks to $646/t, while the Western European HRB price was unchanged at $1,040/t.
