US annual steel imports reached the highest level since 2018 last year, according to official data, with a total of 29.6 Mt imported in 2021, up 9.6 Mt from 2020. Annual imports show increases in shipments from Brazil (+0.3 Mt to 4.0 Mt), EU (+0.8 Mt to 3.3 Mt), Japan (0.3 Mt to 1.0 Mt), Russia (+1.1 Mt to 1.5 Mt) and South Korea (+0.7 Mt to 2.5 Mt).
