Chinese imports of bauxite reached the highest level on record at 12.0 Mt in May, 2.9 Mt above the same month a year before, official data show. The high came following an increase of 1.7 Mt year-on-year to 6.9 Mt in shipments from Guinea. Meanwhile, nickel ore imports rose by 0.2 Mt to 3.8 Mt.
