German and Brazilian Crude Steel Production

German crude steel production rose 3.8% year-on-year to 3.2 Mt in February, according to the country’s steel federation. However, January and February combined only increased by 1.1% compared to the same period last year to 6.5 Mt.

Brazil produced 2.7 Mt of crude steel in February, down 6.9% from the same month last year, official data show. Production in the first two months of the year combined are 5.8% below a year ago at 5.6 Mt.
