Indonesia Proposes Coal DMO Increase
Coal
Indonesian authorities are considering increasing the coal Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) McCloskey reports. Current proposals would see the proportion of output miners must set aside for domestic consumers rise from 25% to 30%. The proposal follows a temporary coal export ban in January that disrupted coal shipments at the start of 2022. Indonesia exported 433.4 Mt of coal in 2021 (including lignite), official data show.
