Port Hedland exported 39.4 Mt of iron ore in February, up 2.0 Mt year-on-year, port authority data show. However, throughput was still down 8.6 Mt on January. At 87.4 Mt, combined January and February shipments were up by 7.7 Mt on the same two months last year.

Meanwhile, Dampier iron ore throughput fell 1.4 Mt year-on-year to 9.3 Mt in February, a third consecutive decline.
