US steel imports increased 0.4 Mt year-on-year to 2.1 Mt in February, the highest total for the month since 2019, according to official data. At 4.9 Mt, combined January-February shipments were 1.0 Mt higher with imports from the EU up by 0.2 Mt to 0.6 Mt, while imports from Brazil fell 0.4 Mt to 0.6 Mt in the same period.
