Australia’s jet fuel demand reaches two-year high in March
Australia’s jet fuel demand increased by 11K b/d m-o-m and 24K b/d y-o-y to 90K b/d in March, the highest level since March 2020 when COVID-19 restrictions were first imposed in the country, according to data from the Australian Petroleum Statistics. Total clean oil product demand edged up by 4K b/d m-o-m to a three-month high of 918K b/d.
Imports of crude oil and other refinery feedstocks increased by 47K b/d m-o-m to a five-month high of 213K b/d, whereas exports declined by 30K b/d m-o-m to 211K b/d, falling for the third month in a row to the lowest level since June 2021. Total refinery throughput rose by 24K b/d m-o-m to 269K b/d, however this remains down by 74K b/d y-o-y.
