Australian exports of iron ore rose by 1.7 Mt in the 1q22 to 217.0 Mt, however March was 1.9 Mt below the same month last year at 75.5 Mt, according to official data. This March decline came despite a 6.1 Mt jump in exports to China to 62.0 Mt.

Shipments of coal were flat year-on-year at 27.2 Mt in March, with exports of steam coal increasing by 0.6 Mt to 13.8 Mt while coking coal fell 0.6 Mt to 13.5 Mt.
