Chinese Thermal Power Output Lower

Chinese thermal power production fell by 11.8% year-on-year in April to 400.8 billion kWh, according to official data. However, overall electricity generation was only down by 4.3% to 608.6 billion kWh. This was due to an increase in hydro power output, up 17.4% year-on-year to 91.8 billion kWh, while all non-thermal power production rose by 21.3% to 207.8 billion kWh.
