US coal exports (excluding Canada) dropped 0.7 Mt year-on-year to 5.5 Mt in December, official data show. The drop came largely as coking coal exports fell 0.6 Mt to 2.8 Mt, as shipments to China and Europe declined 0.6 Mt and 0.2 Mt to a respective 0.1 Mt and 1.3 Mt. Meanwhile, steam coal exports fell 0.1 Mt to 2.7 Mt.
