In December, Vietnamese coal imports declined 0.2 Mt year-on-year to 2.7 Mt, customs data show. Shipments from Australia fell 0.1 Mt to 1.3 Mt while imports from Russia more than halved to 0.2 Mt. However, imports from Indonesia rose 0.1 Mt to 1.1 Mt. Total Vietnamese coal imports in 2022 were 5.6 Mt below the year before at 32.2 Mt.
