April World Crude Steel Production

World crude steel production declined 2.4% year-on-year to 161.4 Mt in April, according to World Steel Association data. Although output in Asia fell 1.5% to 120.5 Mt, production in India and South Korea rose 3.2% and 3.0% to a respective 10.7 Mt and 5.7 Mt. Meanwhile, EU production decreased 11.7% to 11.1 Mt alongside a 5.3% decline in US output to 6.6 Mt.
