Chinese iron ore imports from Australia rose 3.7 Mt year-on-year to 60.6 Mt in April, contributing to shipments 14.4 Mt higher in January-April at 246.7 Mt, customs data show. Imports from India also increased in April, up 3.0 Mt to 4.4 Mt. Meanwhile, shipments from Brazil fell 4.0 Mt to 12.9 Mt, accounting for a smaller proportion as total Chinese iron ore imports climbed 4.4 Mt year-on-year to 90.4 Mt in April.
